Klenteng Gang Lombok Semarang (Tay Kak Sie)
Semarang has some Buddhist Temples which are spread on the lowland named Klenteng. One of the well-known Klenteng in Semarang is Kelnteng Tay Kak Sie. Klenteng Tay Kak Sie, got its name from the word “concious” in Chinese language. Laid on Gang Lombok, has made it also known as Klenteng Gang Lombok.Klenteng Gang Lombok was built in 1746 when the Ching Kian Long Kun Dynasty ruled in China. Adherents of Buddhist are held praying at Klenteng Gang Lombok for every 19th day of February, June, and September. 19th day of February, June, and September was the day of the death of Goddess Kwan Im. At the center of the inside temple there is a statue represented Goddess Kwan Im. There are three guardians next to the altar, called Sam Kwan Tay Tee. Sam means three, Kwan means sky, Tay means human and Tee means earth.
